Sowda is a customer-messaging assistant operated by RunAgent (Bangladesh). Businesses connect their Facebook Page to Sowda through our Meta app, RunAgent Messenger. Sowda then helps answer the Messenger conversations people start with that Page: questions about products, prices, sizes and availability. This policy explains what we receive, why, and how to have it deleted.
Who this covers
People who message a connected Page. If you send a Messenger message to a business that uses Sowda, this policy describes how your messages are handled.
Businesses that connect a Page. If you sign in with Facebook to connect a Page you manage, this policy describes what we keep about that Page.
What we receive from Meta
When you message a connected Page, Meta sends us:
- an identifier that is specific to that Page (a "Page-scoped ID", not your Facebook account ID);
- your first and last name, profile picture and language setting;
- the content of your messages, including photos you send, buttons you tap and reactions;
- when messages were sent, delivered and read.
When a business connects a Page, we receive the Page's ID, name and picture, and an access token that lets us send and receive messages for that Page. We do not store the profile of the person who connected it.
How we use it
- to reply to you on the business's behalf, using the business's own product list;
- to let the business's staff read the conversation and reply themselves;
- to pass the conversation to a person when you ask for one, or when it needs one.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to build profiles across businesses. Each conversation is kept separate and is only visible to the business you messaged.
Automated replies
Replies may be written by an AI assistant. It tells you so at the start of a conversation. You can ask for a person at any time, and the business's staff can take over a conversation whenever they choose.
Who else processes it
- Meta, which delivers the messages. Your conversation also stays in Messenger, under Meta's own privacy policy.
- Our AI model provider, reached through OpenRouter. To write a reply, the recent messages in your conversation, including photos you sent, are sent to the model and processed only to produce that reply.
- Convex, which hosts the database the conversation is stored in (privacy policy).
How long we keep it
- Photos you send are deleted automatically 30 days after we receive them.
- Conversations are kept so the business can see its message history, until the business deletes them or you ask us to.
- A Page's access token is kept until the business disconnects the Page, and is deleted when it does.
Security
Access tokens are encrypted before they are stored. Everything is transmitted over HTTPS, and conversations can only be read by the business's signed-in staff.
Your choices and deletion
You can ask us to delete your conversation and everything we hold about it. See how to request deletion. We complete requests within 30 days.
Children
Sowda is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
